History: This company is Bahamian owned and operated. The big news is that Mr. Rodney Bethel, the general manager, has re-acquired the company! As a part of his purchase of the holding, he has engaged BVG Design/Bahamas Vacation Guide to continue to provide the redesign (going slow as he has dropped much of our old inventory including nearly all clothing items and are getting some new and exciting replacements). While Rodney Bethel and his operation are in Eight Mile Rock he will use BVG's facilities which are staffed closer to Freeport. This will allow for the flow of commerce, and the fulfullment of orders in the future with less delays as had been the case when all operations were housed in Eight Mile Rock. Our objective continues to be to find the items you are interested in purchasing and presenting them to you for sale in the most affordable fashion.

Mr. Bethel formed Bahamas Internet Souvenir Company out of a small out building back in 1996. He started putting together articles that were popular with the folks that come to the island and purchase souvenirs. While he included many of the things all had he searched out the unique and tried very hard to offer as many hard to find items as possible. He then photographed his considerable collection and brought them to BVG for the store to be built. It launched and within several months was very popular.

The demands of keeping stock on the many items that he offered and unreliable local wholesalers became a full time burden instead of the joy Mr. Bethel had expected. Then he ran into shipping difficulties and lost his ability to ship for a short period of time. The terrorist attack and then the postal nightmare added to the woes of shipping and caused him to discontinue many products that were now suspect to customs officials in the US fearful of many harmless items in light of the Anthrax episodes. Naturally he did not want to overbuden the US Customs Dept so he removed many items from the offerings. Not wishing to let his customers down he sold the business to BVG and retained the manager position. BVG was able to replace the shipping resource and assist in alternative storage facilities and finding new wholesalers. Now that the operation has a complete new line coming into place (don't worry we are keeping the favorites) Mr. Bethel has proudly regained full control and ownership of the operation.
